Location
Located in the heart of the Poitou Charentes this recently converted 19th century barn offers spacious accommodation over two floors. It has been designed by an architect to provide flexible accommodation suitable for families or friends and has maintained many of its original features including exposed stone walls and oak beams. It is located in a small hamlet close to the tranquil town of Lezay and is an ideal base to explore this beautiful region of France.
Lezay has much to offer whether you want quiet strolls around the lake and park, relaxing by the riverbank fishing with a picnic whilst watching all the wild life. There is also a small historic agricultural museum For the more active there is a local riding stables situated near by.
Access
The gite has been designed to accommodate wheelchair users with light switches/plug sockets at 1metre height, door widths are 1metre. The down stairs bedroom is spacious allowing for easy access and the wet room/ wc has been designed for wheelchair access. The wet room has adjustable height shower, specially adapted sink and toilet with raised seat if required.
Accommodation
The large downstairs double bedroom approx 4m x 6m has double opening french doors leading out to the terrace and garden.
The spacious lounge has a woodburner and french doors which lead on to the terrace.
There is a television with English satellite, video, Dvd and Hi-Fi.
Facilities
The gite has a large terrace with table and chairs, parasol and barbeque. The above ground swimming pool is for your private use. It is 9.5m x 4.7m , solar heated and has a security gate for added safety.
The garden has a lawn for the children to play and is enclosed. We have a table tennis table and badmington and boules sets can be provided.
The large kitchen/dinning room is modern and spacious with french doors opening on to the terrace. It is well equipped with washing machine ,dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob and microwave.

Lezay offers three traditional restaurants serving quality inexpensive meals, serving local specialties such as Moules Charentine, Boudon Noir, numerous goats cheeses and the local lezay specialty the gateau fromage . Just 2 miles away is a first class locally renowned restaurant Le trois pigeon slightly more expensive but highly recommended. La Rochelle is bustling with fresh seafood restaurants and there are numerous styles of cuisine to be found in Poitiers and Niort.
