Location
Brazos Abiertos” (Open Arms) is presently
under construction and is due for completion
in the autumn of 2007, it is being designed to
be fully accessible for disabled travellers.
It is located within the Subbetica National
Park, in Andalucia, near the small village of
La Celada and within 4 miles of the larger
village of
Iznajar.
The house will be positioned on a stunning
5 acre
olive grove with fabulous views over
the Andalucian countryside (see top left).
Opposite is
a computer image of how the
Hotel will look. It will also be on the site of
the "Open
Arms Project". Sheelagh and
Julie moved to Spain in April 2006 and
since then have been working with architects
and builders to
ensure that the final building
is perfect in every way.
Access
Bathrooms will be fully accessible with a roll
in wet area with grab
rails. Fully accessible
heated swimming pool, which will enable
guests to swim
all year round. The pool will
be equipped with a hydraulic hoist and grab
bars. There are 5 acres of land, and there
will be accessible paths and raised flower
beds, to enable all guests to explore
the grounds.
Accommodation
The four twin rooms are being designed
by
Stella Sharp (colour analyst). Each
room will have air
conditioning/heating
and be furnished in traditional style. Each
room will have tea/coffee making facilities.
Luxury linens and
towels will be provided
because a good night’s sleep is so
important! 
Facilities
The lounge/bar/dining area will be ‘open plan’
and
guests will be able to access a satellite
TV/ DVD system. In addition to the DVD
library there will also be a book library.
The food provided for our guests will be
of a high quality, all home-made and we will
be using locally grown produce.
