This family run business has worked hard to convert this quiet residential property into a first class holiday centre for those with a disability. The apartments are located five minutes walk from the popular resort of Polis, Pafos and twenty minutes from the nearest beach. C and A Tourist Apartments in Cyprus boast the first ever tourist accommodation in Cyprus designed to cater for the less able-bodied.
Access
Disabled access in and around the complex is excellent. There is a paved ramp which allows access into all the rooms. Bed rails and bed raisers are available. The bathrooms have a wheel-in shower, grab rails and wall-mounted shower seats. There are drop down rails on either side of the toilet. The pool has railings as well as a hoist. There are also raised sunbeds. The light switches are all placed at a convenient level throughout the apartments.
Accommodation
There are 10 studios, 6 one-bedroom apartments, 2 two-bedroom apartments and 1 three bedroom apartment. They are all airy with plenty of space for maneuvering a wheelchair.
The remote control TVs are wall mounted to give more space. In the kitchenette there's a dining table and chairs and as well a kettle, toaster, fridge, hob and microwave. Central heating in all rooms and air conditionning(payable locally) in each bedroom. All rooms have patio doors that lead to either a level patio area or veranda.
There are pool facing studios and garden facing studios where perhaps a visitor would prefer to have a little more shade, somewhere to relax and unwind on an evening. Some studios have interconnecting doors. The extremely spacious one-bedroom apartments can sleep a maximum of 3 people, the two-bedroom apartments sleep up to a 5 people and the three-bedroom apartment sleeps a maximum of 6. In one, two and three bedroom apartments, the lounge has a sofa bed, coffee table and chairs to relax in.
Facilities
Excellent facilities for the disabled traveller include a pool hoist and adapted vehicle on site. The local town nearby has a selection of accessible restaurants. There is a wheelchair access ramp at the C.T.O Polis Camping Beach and a beach wheelchair was donated by the local community and its restaurants. It can be freely used by C & A guests to be able to enjoy the beaches and a dip in the sea!
A wheelchair accessible walkway runs along the edge of the beach stretching 2kms from Polis Camping Beach all the way to the fishing harbour of Latchi. There's loads to see and do from lazing around the pool to para-sailing, horse riding and scuba diving. Local boat excursions include a special hoist so that wheelchair users can go for a swim in the Med.
