Kingsbere Annexe is a stylish ground-floor annexe purpose-built for a powerchair user and completely renovated for use as holiday accommodation in 2023. The annexe is a 5 minutes level walk to the beach and has level access/interior, ceiling hoist, profiling bed, wide doorways, accessible height switches and sockets, and luxury wet-room.
The property is located on the iconic Jurassic coast close to the award-winning Weymouth Beach and tranquil Old Harbour. The annexe is situated in a quiet residential area just 5 minutes level walk to the beach and beachside facilities at Overcombe, SW coast path, and local nature reserve. The stunning natural attractions of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are a 15-minute drive away, and the bustling town centre of Weymouth is a 5-minute drive, or 5-10 minutes on the regular bus services.
Kingsbere Annexe is in a prime location for exploring the Weymouth and Portland area. Weymouth offers beautiful golden sands sprinkled with deckchairs, safe shallow waters, an action-packed events programme and pretty harbourside, you certainly won’t be disappointed. The world was introduced to the Georgian grandeur of Weymouth during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Weymouth’s fine seafront provided an impressive backdrop to the sailing events and captured the hearts of many!
Further afield Dorset boasts some of the most beautiful coast and countryside – from fossil hunting to Museums – Dorset offers an abundance of natural and themed attractions for everyone to enjoy!
Access
The annexe can be accessed via a gentle ramp through a landscaped front garden suitable for heavy power chairs. The ramp leads from a large off-road hard-surface level parking area, with space for a large adapted vehicle to unload, and a second vehicle.
An accessible key safe is situated under a covered porch leading to the entrance. The property has extra wide entrance and interior doors suitable for wheelchair use. The internal lobby is suitable for wheelchair turning and leads into the accessible suite, offering level access open plan kitchen, sleeping and living area.
Accommodation
Kingsbere Annexe has a spacious open-plan design. The sleeping/living area has a single profiling bed with side rails, X-Y ceiling track hoist, double Next sofa bed, additional ceiling infra-red heating, wall-mounted Amazon Fire Smart TV and remote-control mood lighting.
The modern kitchen overlooks the front garden and has a full-size fridge, microwave, sink, Nespresso coffee machine, and storage space. Guests can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The annexe has a pull-out extendable dining table seating three.
Kingsbere Annexe has a spacious luxury wet-room with step-free shower, wheel-under washbasin, and wheeled shower/commode chair (the shower has both a rainfall shower head and separate hand-held shower attachment). There is a supplementary electric radiator on a pull cord. Guests can loan a leg support/raiser for the profiling bed, and a mobility scooter is available to hire.
