Description
This wheelchair accessible tour will give you the time you need to explore Vietnam's culture in depth, carefully developed to allow you to access a great range of cultural sites, with temples, quaint countryside, river cruises, and city tours.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
  • Your guide and your driver will be there to welcome you. Drive to your hotel and time to relax and refresh. Depending on your time of arrival you will have a guided tour of Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi
  • Your trip will begin in the famous old quarter of the "36 old streets and guilds" - the historical heart of the city. You will be able to travel by cyclo - a Vietnamese three-wheeled bicycle taxi. Each "Hang" - street - is specialised, with a Hang of silversmiths, of coconut carpets, of sweets, of metalworkers, and more. The streets are filled with old traditional houses and temples. The quarters are located around the Hoan Kiem Lake - the "Lake of the Returned Sword".
  • You will have lunch in a Vietnamese colonial villa, and in the afternoon you will be able to visit the Vietnamese Women's Museum, dedicated to the contributions and history of Vietnam's women.

Day 3: Hanoi
  • Today, you will proceed to the Ethnology Museum to learn about the ancestral traditions of Vietnam. The museum features a wide range of exhibits, focusing on the 54 recognised historic ethnic groups of Vietnam. You will have lunch at leisure, with the option to enjoy lunch at the restaurant of the museum.
  • Your afternoon will be dedicated to Ho Chi Minh, the famous revolutionary leader, where you can visit the mausoleum hosting his body and see many of his belongings displayed in his house. You will also be able to visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a peculiar historic Buddhist temple.

Day 4: Dry Halong Bay
  • With a drive outside Hanoi, you will visit the "Dry Halong Bay", offering an amazing landscape of karst mountains - some of the most spectacular scenery in Vietnam. During the 10th century, this site was the capital of 3 feudal dynasties, of which you will be able to visit the temples and historical buildings. You will have a lunch of regional specialties in Ninh Binh.

Day 5 and 6: Halong Cruise
  • You will depart for Halong Bay, known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. The bay counts over 1600 karsts, carved by the sea over centuries. You will depart for the cruise of a lifetime, for two days, with excellent views of the scenery from the superior deck. You will be accommodated in a luxury cabin, with meals served at the on-board restaurant. The staff are available for any assistance you need during your journey. You will disembark during the second day, and have the rest of your day in Hanoi at leisure.

Day 7: Hoi An
  • In the morning, following breakfast, you will take a short flight to travel to Da Nang, by the sea and located in central Vietnam. On arrival, you will meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. You will visit Hoi An in the afternoon - a delightful, atmospheric town, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The well-preserved old town is entirely pedestrian.
  • You will start your tour with a guide, through the paved streets and warm coloured houses, with hanging lanterns. You can cross the 16th century Japanese bridge, which historically linked the Japanese and Chinese communities.

Day 8: Tra Que
  • You will travel outward from Hoi An, reaching the rural countryside village of Tra Que, located along a canal. Your guide will introduce you to the history and agriculture of the village, where farm work is still done manually with ancestral techniques. You can travel along the plantations fields, and continue to a local house where you will receive a cooking demonstration. You can enjoy local specialties, such as "Tam Huu" rolls and "Ban Xeo" pancakes. You can also have a foot massage in the bamboo huts.

Day 9: Hoi An
  • You will have a full day to your leisure in Hoi An, to let you become familiar with the town, and explore the many options for shopping and relaxation in the town.

Day 10: Hue
  • You will check out of Hoi An at lunch, and depart to Hue, the historic former national capital. You will check in at your hotel, ideally in the city centre. From there, you can have a tour of the city with your guide.

Day 11: Hue
  • You will begin with a stop at the Dong Ba market, located on the picturesque Perfume River, with various stalls of fruits and vegetables, and local spices. The Imperial Citadel - the highlight of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site - built similarly to the Forbidden City in Beijing. You will be able to wander the park of the imperial city, and explore the various courts.
  • In the afternoon, you will depart to the countryside of Hue, considered among the most beautiful in the country. With lush rice paddies and numerous temples, it offers a great landscape. You will visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the tallest temple of Vietnam, overlooking the perfume river.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City
  • You will transfer back to Da Nang, for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, you will meet with your guide and transfer to the hotel. Ho Chi Minh City is the economic capital of Vietnam, with trendy youth and luxury shops. Throughout the afternoon you can visit the architectural highlights of the city, including the Notre Dame Cathedral of Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Post Office made in style of the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel, and the Independence Palace.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City
  • You will depart toward Tao Dan Park, located in the heart of the city. There, you can see the locals performing Tai Chi - a graceful martial art, originating from China. The park is also known for its bird owners, who meet every morning to show their favourite birds and teach them to sing. You can enjoy the scenes of the park with local tea and coffee.
  • Afterwards, you can take a ride to the flower market of Ho Thi Ky, where you can enjoy the beautiful sights and smells of photogenic tropical flowers.
  • In the afternoon, you can also visit the central market, for those willing to purchase any last minute souvenirs. You can also choose to visit the War Remnants Museum.
  • The rest of your afternoon is at leisure, you can rest, or explore the city further with your guide.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City
  • Today, you will visit the dynamic market of Cai Be. It is located all along the Mekong River, and offers a great variety of local produce, including fruits and vegetables, and fish and shells, from the river. The market also had cooking utensils, tools, coal, and incense. After visiting the market, you will continue to a local manufactory of coconut candies, pop-rice, and liquor.
  • You will have lunch in a river-side restaurant. In the afternoon, you will take a short ferry ride to an island. From there you can have a tour through the quiet and lush countryside, to witness the rustic living of Mekong's countryside.

Day 15: Departure
  • You will have breakfast at your hotel, and the day at leisure until your transfer to the airport. If you have time, there is also the possibility of a visit to Siem Reap, to appreciate the amazing, intricate temples of Angkor.
