Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Lima
  • From the airport, you will arrive in the city of Lima, and the staff will be waiting to help you transfer to your hotel. From there, you have the rest of the day off. You can use this time to explore the hot and dry capital of Peru, a treasure trove of history and architecture, and a downtown beachfront which has great shopping and dining.
Day 2: Lima City Tour
  • On a city tour of Lima, you can appreciate the city’s central attractions, such as the Pyramid of Pucllana, the Main Square of Lima, the Government Palace, and Archbishop’s Palace of Lima. The tour includes a guided visit to the monastery of Santo Domingo. After a lunch in a café or restaurant, you can enjoy a guided visit to the Larco Herrera Museum, a private museum featuring a vast array of pre-Colombian art.
Day 3: Cusco City Tour
  • After breakfast and a briefing by the tour manager, you will transfer to the airport to board a flight to Cusco. When you arrive in Cusco, you will transfer to your accommodation, and the rest of the morning is free for acclimatisation. Over 3,000 metres above sea level, the city is the oldest still-inhabited city in the continent, and is thriving with activity.
  • After lunch (not included), you can visit the main square of the city, alongside seeing the archaeological complex of Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun) - which was the most important temple of the Inca Empire, the archaeological complex of Qenko, Puka Pukara - an ancient military fortress, Tambomachay, and Saqsaywaman. The evening will include a welcome dinner with a folklore show. You will transfer to your hotel.
Day 4: Sacred Valley Tour
  • You will visit various towns and districts of the sacred valley of Peru, including Pisac, Coya, Lamay, Calca, Yucay, Urubamba, and Chinchero. In Urubamba - the drop off point for hundreds of salt pools in the Maras Salt Mines, dating to ancient times - you will stop to have your buffet lunch.
  • After lunch, you will have a guided visit of the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo. You will return to Cusco for a night in your hotel.
Day 5: Full Day Machu Picchu Tour
  • You will transfer to Poroy Station, and board the 'Tren Vistadome' - giving you memorable, wide views of the passing landscape - towards the small town of Aguas Calientes. You will then board the bus to Machu Picchu, and begin your guided tour. Shrouded by mist and surrounded by lush vegetation and steep escarpments, the sprawling Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is in an incredible location and is an essential part of any trip to Peru. With this tour’s accessibility features, you can experience it first-hand. You will be able to dine on the train afterwards, returning to Cusco city.
Day 6: Return to Lima
  • After breakfast, you will fly back to the capital city of Lima, to board your returning flight home.
