Set in a tropical rainforest with natural mineral green hot spring pools and botanical gardens, Blue River offers luxury cabanas in Costa Rica. In this 4-star resort guests can admire the orchid garden and visit the turtle ponds, have a mud treatment or take a trip to the nearby volcano or waterfalls. Within Blue River Estate subdivision, remains 27 acres of pristine parkland that runs along the volcanic blue river Penjamo. Due to the nature of the resort set in a tropical rainforest , accessibility is a problem. However if you want to experience a little of Costa Rica's natural beauty, then this is the ideal place to spend a few days.
The rooms, pools,restaurants,spa and botanical gardens all have special access, and the main resort area has an accessible path of travel.
Accommodation
Blue River Hotel & Hot Springs Resort offers boutique accommodation in new, 20 spacious 720 square foot cabañas. The air-conditioned cabañas have flat-screen TVs and a balcony with a hammock. They are nicely decorated with wood furnishings. Rooms also include tea and coffee makers and a refrigerator.
Only 1 room is accessible so booking in advance is recommended.
Facilities
Many eco-tours are available, all in the vicinity. Here you have the chance to take nature hikes like never before. Tour Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park & Canyon Negro and cool off by swimming in our private waterfalls and in the volcanic blue rivers. Or take part in bird-watching- for experienced and new bird-watchers alike- and guided tours to spot mammals such as the common howler monkeys in their natural habitats. For the adventure-seekers, repel down waterfalls, fly down our zip-lines, or horseback through the tropical forest.
It should be noted that the tours are unfortunatley not accessible.

Food and refreshments are taken care of at Blue River's Tiki Bar and Restaurant found amongst the pools and close to the cabanas, with views of the volcano and lush landscaping. The chef is renowned for serving up fresh local and continental delights. Full American breakfast is included with the room rate.
