Just 7 miles from the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, this spacious, light filled lodge is ideal as a base for the fabulous Northumbrian coast with its castles and causeways, and for the lovely towns and villages of the Scottish Borders. Comfortably furnished, the open plan living area has a vaulted ceiling and doors leading to the decked patio, and all three bedrooms are roomy and well furnished. Hunrig Lodge is privately situated in the owner’s grounds, and there is a small, fenced, touring caravan park further on.
Nearby, visit Paxton House with its extensive woodland grounds and adventure playground; walk around Berwick’s ancient walls; take in the epic sea views from the cliffs of St Abb’s Head National Nature Reserve, build sand castles or go surfing off Coldingham Sands. Not to be missed is Holy Island, 18 miles, accessed by a tidal causeway, while further down the coast there are castles galore, including Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick. Visit the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses to see puffins and seals. The cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle are just an hour away by train. Fishing is also available nearby. Beach 7¾ miles.
